OBCDC awarded $7,000 Neighborhood Reinvestment Program Grant for tree planting

The OBCDC was awarded a $7,000 Neighborhood Reinvestment Program Grant by Supervisor Greg Cox, County of San Diego District 1, for tree planting. With the help of volunteers and local community organizations, the OBCDC has helped complete numerous tree planting projects. More information about past tree plantings here.

Chris Kern receives Citizen of the Year Award

Past OBCDC President Chris Kern was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award by the Ocean Beach Town Council. Chris has been an active member of the Ocean Beach Community and has taken many leadership and support roles over the years with our local organizations. Congratulations Chris! |

Press conference held at Ocean Beach Gateway Park site
March 18, 2009
A press conference was held at the Ocean Beach Gateway Park site with Councilman Kevin Faulconer and members of the OBCDC, OBMA and OB Town Council. Councilman Faulconer presented the OBCDC with a check for $100,000 from federal Community Development Block Grant funds. The grant has been awarded for the Ocean Beach Gateway Park project. The OBCDC is continuing their fundraising efforts to raise the remaining $85,000 needed to start construction on Phase I of the project.
