VETERANS PLAZA UPDATE
OBCDC Partners with the Midway Foundation to Honor Veterans
We are proud to announce a new partnership with the Midway Foundation to permanently install Legacy Bricks honoring all veterans whose names were previously submitted and paid for—including those originally represented by Medallions in the Ocean Beach Veterans Plaza. These bricks will be placed at Freedom Park at Burnham Navy Pier, right beside the USS Midway Museum, a historic and fitting location to celebrate our veterans' service and sacrifice!
If you've already submitted your inscription and payment to the OBCDC, no additional action is needed. Those families who had Medallions at the original Veterans Plaza will also have a corresponding Legacy Brick placed at Freedom Park. All bricks and Medallions are fully paid for, regardless of when they were purchased.
In addition, we’re pleased to share that the current memorial rock from the OB Veterans Plaza will be relocated closer to the Ocean Beach lifeguard station. It will feature a new bronze plaque listing the names of honored veterans—creating a continued place of remembrance right in our own neighborhood.

Thank you for your ongoing support, patience, and commitment to honoring our local heroes. This has been made possible through the incredible generosity and dedication of our supporters over the years. The OBCDC is deeply honored to help bring this memorial to life.
